Toys'R'Us, Inc. Marketplace Learning Leader in JOLIET, Illinois


The Regional Marketplace Learning Leader (RMLL) is responsible for making culture and learning a competitive advantage by providing strategic support to the Marketplace. This position is responsible for the development and integration of training content to improve team member productivity and achieve strategic business goals. This individual helps to build and support the infrastructure for leadership development curriculum. The RMLL is involved in making strategic developmental recommendations for all levels across Regions. This includes the identification of developmental needs to creation, instructional design and facilitation of training programs through collaboration with Regional leaders in the Marketplace and Human Resources. They will consult with the Learning & Development center of excellence to ensure that their content is in concert with the entire organization. They will aid in developing an intranet repository that will have many developmental tools available to the leadership teams.

Specific job duties include:

· Identify training and development needs for their respective market. This includes working collaboratively with the HR and Operations team to identify trends and needs via the Talent Review process as well as supplemental data · Design curriculum and facilitate a variety of programs from hourly to District Manager level. · Create a learning culture in the Marketplace that effectively aligns with the mission, vision and values of the organization · Partner with Regional leadership to identify and address gaps in building a high-performing team through talent assessment, succession planning and career-pathing · Coach leaders on the tools and resources that are available to build a strong bench (Workday Talent and Individual Development Plans, Talent Assessment Program, Mentoring Programs, Leadership Meetings, Leadership Assimilations, etc.) · Encourage and leverage cross-regional partnerships to achieve conformity on learning initiatives · Comprise database and track marketplace training progress and results · Direct the needs assessment for training and development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company · Consult with managers and employees to assess training needs in order to develop programs to match these needs · Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed


· A bachelor’s or an advanced degree with 8 or more years of Human Resource experience or any similar combination of education and experience. · Advanced knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures including federal, state and local HR laws Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skill using Microsoft office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with detail orientation and accuracy Excellent written and verbal skills · Experienced trainer and facilitator Preferred Eligibility Qualifications

· PHR/SPHR and or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification

· Organizational Design and Development Certification

· Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

Supervisory Responsibility This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This position serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the Marketplace.
