Job Description

The Manager of Labor Planning and Scheduling is responsible for the payroll planning, budgeting and scheduling processes for the Marketplace (Field) organization. The incumbent will partner with Marketplace Leadership to drive effective training and management of labor and scheduling processes. In addition, they will regularly partner with IT, Operations, HR, Planning and Allocation and other key functional areas to provide recommendations and guidance to maximize the effectiveness of store labor and financials for the Company.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and configuration of Store Scheduling/Budgeting System to maximize the systems effectiveness in the stores and drive the organization to achieve its financial goals. Maintain and update system configuration to ensure the system is scheduling stores appropriately.

  • Provide field support to ensure consistent understanding and execution of the Workforce plan. Ensure effective and efficient helpdesk support for the scheduling system and payroll management process. Troubleshoot field issues and provide recommendations and direction to improving the management of payroll and scheduling.

  • Lead field training and knowledge of the Scheduling system – Work cross functionally with the learning team, field management, IT and communications on design and implementation of training material and methodology. Develop plans drive improvement of the knowledge base and utilization of the scheduling system while maximizing effectiveness of schedules and field management time.

  • Work with Cross Functional teams: Finance, Planning and Allocation, Merchandising, Marketing and HR to align initiatives with the monthly planning process and financial forecasts to drive profitability. Provide recommendations and direction to effectively manage payroll to achieve financial goals.

  • Lead Hourly Payroll Budget/Planning Process – Align with Cross functional teams to incorporate initiatives, corporate strategy, historical data and new store processes into the budgeting process. Work with the Finance team to coordinate a budgeting calendar that aligns with field input and delivers the required financial information.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Finance

  • 10+ years of relevant experience. Retail Operations background required.

  • Financial Payroll budgeting experience

  • Reflexis System experience a plus

  • Highly advanced analytical and quantitative skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work in a cross functional environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills
