Position Summary :
This position is primarily responsible for providing financial & business analysis in support of Domestic Brick & Mortar Stores. Primary responsibilities include: Supporting business owners in managing P&L expense accounts, monthly & annual planning & forecasting, expense related research, and ad-hoc requests.
Own a select group of P&L accounts in the Domestic Brick & Mortar P&L, with the intent of becoming the subject matter expert for the assigned accounts.
Partner & influence the business owner of assigned accounts with the intent of providing decision supporting analysis. Be the liaison to the accounting team (as needed).
Track and analyze SG&A expenditures vs. budget, forecast, and last year; understand variances, prepare explanations for management, and lend insights into future expense risks & opportunities.
Utilize financial analysis, modeling and understanding of the key business drivers to identify opportunities and make recommendations for cost savings improvements.
Develop appropriate analytical support for ad hoc analyses (for example, take the lead Finance role in a major RFP, benchmarking study, etc...)
Assist in preparation of deliverables for leadership presentations.
Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. MBA preferred.
Basic understanding of Accounting (101) is preferred.
3-5 years of related experience. Retail experience a plus.
Excellent oral/written communication skills; the ability to summarize large volumes of data into effective key points is a must.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a cross functional environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.
Strong problem solving, organization and analytical skills.
Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects with varying deadlines.
Proficient in Excel. Knowledge of SAP BPC, Powerpoint, and Access a plus.
Ability to work under pressure.
